Description
This chilly adaptation of Oscar Wilde's novel stars Hurd Hatfield as Dorian Gray, a handsome young Victorian gentleman who remains eternally young while a portrait of him grows old and bears the ugly scars of his vile undertakings. The otherwise black-and-white horror film is notable for its lavish Technicolor finale—perhaps helping it score its Academy Award for cinematography. Angela Lansbury gained an Oscar nod for her role as an innocent singer whom Dorian corrupts.
